## How to use this catalog

This is a curated evidence base, not a ranking of personalities and not a
requirement to consume every item. Start with the free route for the competency
you are practicing, use original sources before summaries, and read competing
methods when the context matters.

### Evidence tiers

- **Tier A:** standards, regulators, government data, peer-reviewed or original
  research, official documentation, public filings, and first-party accounts.
  A first-party company source is authoritative about what that company says it
  did; it is not automatically proof that the method generalizes.
- **Tier B:** original practitioner frameworks, respected books, author-origin
  guidance, and well-documented vendor methods. These are useful for practice
  but contain a viewpoint, commercial incentive, or less formal evidence base.
- **Tier C:** secondary summaries, aggregators, community collections, and
  interview-prep sites. Use them to discover prompts or vocabulary, never as the
  sole support for a factual or legal claim.

### Freshness rules

1. Date-stamp market numbers, laws, product behavior, prices, interview
   processes, AI capabilities, and vendor documentation.
2. Recheck AI, privacy, security, regulation, current product cases, pricing,
   and company interview-process sources every quarter.
3. Recheck stable standards and foundational methods annually. A publication
   can be old and still be the current official version; note both facts.
4. For regulation, read the official text and obtain qualified advice. This
   catalog is a learning aid, not legal advice.
5. When a page is a living document, record the access date in the question or
   case source record.

### Access labels

- **Free:** full useful content is available without payment.
- **Free registration:** useful content requires an account or email.
- **Freemium:** core material is free; the publisher sells related tools or
  training.
- **Paid/library:** book, course, or article normally requires purchase,
  subscription, or library access.

### Case-study evidence template

For every branded case, record:

1. decision cutoff and facts available by that date;
2. product and business context;
3. user and non-user stakeholders;
4. first-party sources;
5. at least one independent or regulatory source when material;
6. public fact versus interpretation versus hypothetical extension;
7. decision options and constraints;
8. outcome evidence and counter-metrics;
9. survivorship, selection, and hindsight limitations;
10. what remains unknown because internal data is unavailable.

## 15. Recommended book route

Books deepen a topic but age differently. Prefer the latest legitimate edition,
use a library where possible, and pair every book with current primary sources.

## 16. Coverage and source-quality checklist

Before a resource set is accepted for a roadmap or question bank:

- [ ] It contains an original or Tier A source for every time-sensitive factual
      claim.
- [ ] It includes a strong free route; paid material is optional depth.
- [ ] It distinguishes a framework's origin from evidence that it works.
- [ ] It includes user research, business economics, delivery, and operation,
      rather than only feature design.
- [ ] Accessibility, internationalization, privacy, security, abuse, ethics,
      reliability, and lifecycle are represented by specialist sources.
- [ ] Statistics and experimentation use primary research or a rigorous
      textbook, not analytics-vendor definitions alone.
- [ ] AI includes task-specific evaluation, human control, security, data
      provenance, monitoring, economics, and current regulation.
- [ ] Guesstimate anchors come from official data with definition and vintage,
      especially for India or other named geographies.
- [ ] Company cases include date and survivorship/PR limitations.
- [ ] Interview-process claims come from the employer or recruiter and carry an
      as-of date; old PDFs are labeled historical.
- [ ] Legal and regulatory sources identify jurisdiction, version, and
      effective date.
- [ ] No source is cited merely because it is popular.

## 17. Freshness watchlist as of July 28, 2026

These sources require special handling:

- **EU AI Act:** implementation details changed with the AI Omnibus entering
  force on **July 27, 2026**. Recheck the Commission's Act page and FAQ before
  every legal scenario.
- **OpenAI evaluation tooling:** the documentation checked on July 28 warned
  that the then-current Evals platform would become read-only on October 31 and
  shut down November 30, 2026. Keep the evaluation concepts, but update all tool
  instructions.
- **NIST AI RMF:** version 1.0 was under revision. Cite the exact framework,
  profile, playbook, and publication date.
- **NIST Privacy Framework:** 1.0 was stable while 1.1 was an initial public
  draft. Do not describe 1.1 as final without a new check.
- **Meta PM interview guide:** useful historical competency taxonomy, but not a
  reliable description of the 2026 process.
- **Scrum Guide:** the November 2020 guide was still the current official
  version. An old publication date is not the same as an obsolete version.
- **Vendor analytics and pricing material:** pages were current, but benchmark
  numbers and product features age quickly and reflect commercial incentives.
- **Official data:** World Bank, RBI, NPCI, TRAI, census, and UN values are
  revised. Store the table, series, period, release, and access date—not a
  memorized market number.
